We are in the process of moving house and chose Dootsons as our solicitors. What a mistake that was! The process has now taken over 4 months from the offer being accepted on the properties. Dootsons have not contacted us once regarding information to do with our move, they have been slow to contact other solicitors in the chain, have received documents and not passed them on for over 7 days on several occasions which has held our move up resulting in threats from others in the chain to re market the property we were purchasing. Our mortgage was not ordered which again held up completion when all other parties were ready to move. Again this caused further threats of re marketing from individuals in the chain. At this time I think I should mention that we were moving into an empty house and the purchaser of our property was not selling a property just buying. There wasn't really a chain at all. We were buying a vacant property and selling one. That’s it! We have spent a ridiculous amount of time and money on the phone trying to speak to someone at Dootsons but to no success. They have not once updated us as to how the move was going or any further information that would be required until the very last moment when we were being threatened that re marketing would occur. Their answer machine message reads "leave a message and we'll get back to you by the close of business today" this by the way is absolute rubbish! Don’t expect a phone call. In the time I have spent paying Dootsons for their services I have rang them and updated them on situations they knew nothing about and yet should have. At one point it took my partner, the buyer of our property and myself to get together to sort out issues Dootsons failed to resolve. Dootsons have failed to show any urgency with our move and have made us feel not like an individual but like a tin can on the production line, what will be will be. Their lack of compassion, professionalism and most importantly communication with the client has been appalling. Bridgfords have contacted us on a weekly basis to update us on how things were moving, Dootsons failed to contact us at all not even when further documents were required. I beg you to reconsider if you are planning to use Dootsons. They say the most stressful time in your life is moving house. Moving house has been a breeze. Dootsons provided the stress and took our money!
